Flush window

With flush windows, the outer edge of the sash is flush with the outer face of the frame. The design helps to prevent rain from reaching the outer gaskets of a window. However, the massive shape of the sash is not desired in many buildings, especially in renovation projects, where a more historical appearance is desired.

Stepped window

The closed sash is set back from the frame, a classic style in windows. This alignment is the most popular form when renovating historical homes and buildings, as it imitates the appearance of historical wooden frames.

Semiflush window

In the semiflush window, the sash only halfway. In this case, the sash does not attempt to build a line with the frame, but uses sweeping contours. This design is often matched on the indoor side with contoured glazing beads for a symmetric appearance. The semiflush alignment is preferred for windows with a more modern, design-oriented touch.
